Thank you Shekinah Nefreteri for being our beautiful, beloved, and brilliant daughter. A better sister there never was. Within our family of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, treasured in-laws, your community of honored friends, and intermutually trusted patients, you have been highly favored. Never were you a "cross to bear," but always a cherished blessing. Our seeming distance for now is but transient. You will always be with us. Thank you, Adam, for being a remarkable husband to Shekinah. Thank you, Susan and Barry, for everything. Her inimitable William will stand in her grace and walk in her light.
Thank you for sharing this final post with us. And thank you for bringing a particular joy to Shekinah's life. We are all better for having had her presence in our lives.
Shekinah, watching you being you is one of the most cherished things about being your aunt. You were always unmistakably you—like none other—in a class by yourself. It was a pure joy witnessing your life as you made your family so proud. I marveled at you from day one. That bouncing, beautiful baby girl with the sparkle in her eyes and those dimples (Something you and I shared with yGrandma Rose)! Thank you for being you—a special somebody—such a blessed gift to our family and as it turns out, the truth be told, to the World! Adam, thank you for sharing and, most of all, being who you are to Shekinah and William. Much love, Aunt Carroll
I had never met anyone and who loved their birthday more than myself . We shared that day too. 15 July will forever be more special. I will celebrate on your behalf for as long as God permits. Until we meet again , Fly high Shekinah
Thank you, Adam, for sharing this. I met Shekinah in grad school and she remains one of the smartest and fearless people I’ve ever known. The Omelette Club will miss her deeply. Much love to you, William, and the rest of her family.
Thank you for sharing her final post - i hope you find peace in comfort in remembering how she lived. I learned from her in these post - I especially enjoyed learning about new fragrances, I smile, and carry your memory when wearing these new favorites scents.
Thank you Adam for sharing this beautiful post. I knew Shekinah back in high school. A true renaissance woman if ever there was one. My condolences to you and the family, the world has lost a beautiful person but the universe has gained a gorgeous soul.
Adam, thank you for sharing this piece with us. Shekinah marked so many of us in a positive, indelible manner. My deepest condolences to you and your family. May you and William find comfort in this difficult time.

Thank you, Adam. Shekinah listened better than any doc I’ve seen in my 65 years. I will miss her humanity.
